The ancestors of zhankeng villagers in Weng Town, Wengyuan County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province lived in the mountains. Raising river fish in mud ponds is not new here, but it is not easy to raise sea fish in the mountains.
At the end of last year, zhankeng village made a very brave attempt. The unit that provides counterpart assistance to zhankeng village has invested 1.2 million yuan in two phases to build an industrial project of "container aquaculture". High value-added seafood has not only increased the income of poor households, but also provided new ideas for poor mountainous counties to explore the development of green industry.
The water is good, the level is high, and the fish in the container are happy
At the entrance of zhankeng village, between Castle Peak and civilian houses, ten blue containers as high as barns are lined up in a row, which is particularly eye-catching. The containers are numbered. Approaching, you can not only see the neat water and electricity pipelines outside the box, but also hear the gurgling sound from inside; Inside the container, the water churned and the fish shuttled.
Container fish farming is a new thing for zhankeng villagers. All the water from the village is mountain spring water. The quality of mountain spring water is very good, but the villagers don't know how to use it. There are more than 50 small fish ponds in the village, stocking grass carp, silver carp and carp, with an annual yield of only 300-500 kg per mu. The enthusiasm of farmers is not high, and the village committee also lacks confidence in the development of fishery.
It is precisely because of the favorable conditions of rich local water sources and good water quality that the assistance unit prepared the characteristic industrial project of "container aquaculture" last year.
There are two local advantages - good water and high water level.
After testing, the local water quality is free of mineral pollution and pesticide pollution. The water quality is safe and assured. The raised fish have less disease and high quality. At the same time, the technicians found that the mountain spring water in zhankeng village has high water level and strong water pressure, and can realize "flowing water culture" without artificial power, which provides another guarantee for the quality of fish. The income is obvious, with an annual income of hundreds of thousands

Zhankeng village has established a professional agricultural cooperative, and the assistance unit has raised 1.2 million yuan as the share capital for poor households to participate in production and operation. Since then, the interest linkage mechanism of "company + base" and "cooperative + poor households" can be constructed.
Last December, the assistance unit leveled the wasteland at the entrance of the village, mobilized ten containers and installed tap water. Previously, a batch of grass carp and bighead carp were raised. In 20 days, 4000 kg were harvested per box, with considerable profits. At present, more than 20000 American eels are cultured in the container, which can be "out of the container" in seven or eight months, and the market price is about 60-70 yuan / kg. In the future, the project will focus on the cultivation of high value-added marine products such as American eel, gem perch and emerald spot, which are mainly used for export.American eel
It is understood that after the implementation of the "container aquaculture" project, the equity income of 46 poor families in zhankeng village will increase by 3000-10000 yuan per year; Half of the remaining 200000 yuan of the benefit fund is used as the village collective income and half as the poverty relief fund, which is managed by the village committee for public welfare activities such as major disease relief and poor students' education.

Raising sea fish in containers surprised villagers in mountainous areas. With the advantages of good mountains and water in zhankeng village, the project has been effectively developed and has become the first modern facility fishery demonstration site in mountainous counties of the province. Based on the advantages of local resources, this is to explore a sustainable development path of green industry for poor mountainous counties.
However, it should be reminded that aquaculture is ever-changing, and the aquaculture situation will be affected by many factors. If you want to learn from it, you still need to do a good job of prior consultation.
